Why choose to work in Lake Country – It’s all about the Okanagan lifestyle.
Lake Country’s roots are in agriculture, with orchards and vineyards continuing to dominate the landscape. Our region continues to be a top producer of wine grapes, apples, cherries and other soft fruit. With its warm summer climate, Lake Country, along with its central Okanagan neighbors, is a popular tourist destination, retirement area, and work place for those who chose to work from home. But don’t take my word for it, here are just some of the many reasons to call Lake Country home.
With the name “Lake Country” there must be lakes. Wood Lake, Kalamalka Lake, and Okanagan Lake provide plenty of opportunity for water pursuits, whether that be boating, kayaking, fishing, or hanging out at the beach.
Wineries fill the landscape of the Okanagan valley. There are more than 40 registered wineries in the Kelowna Lake Country region.
Golf anyone. There are at least 12 championship golf courses within 30 min of Lake Country.
Mountain biking and hiking are popular outdoor activities in the Okanagan valley. Spion Kop hiking trails provide 360 degree vistas of the Okanagan valley. The Okanagan rail trail is a 47 Km stretch of abandoned railway travelling from Vernon to Kelowna along both Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake, with expected completion in 2018.
For the snow skiing enthusiast Silver Star and Big White are both within an hour drive. Need a winter Vacation? Kelowna International Airport is less than 10 min away, providing direct flights to many cities in Canada, the US, and other sun destinations.
